While premium cigars are at the heart of the experience, Founder and CEO Heather M. Linn envisioned something much greater when she opened the doors in September 2022. “Smolder was always meant to be more than a lounge,” Heather says. “I wanted to create a place where people could relax, build relationships, and feel like they belong.”

Employee Lance Frazier Sr. says the lounge became family long before it became his workplace.
“People often ask me what Smolder means to me, and the answer is simple. It is my home away from home. Sure, it is a cigar lounge, but to me it is so much more than that. It is a place where friendships turn into family.”
After experiencing the loss of his daughter, Lance says the Smolder community stood beside him during one of the most difficult moments of his life.
“When I lost my daughter, the people at Smolder did not just offer kind words. They grieved with me, supported me, and reminded me that I was not alone.”
He also recalls spending nearly a year asking Heather for an opportunity to join the team before finally being hired on his very first day of retirement.
“Looking back, I could not have asked for a better place to spend this chapter of my life.”
Today, Lance sees his role as giving every visitor the same experience that changed his own life.
“I have the privilege of helping create the same welcoming atmosphere for our members that was created for me. I want everyone who walks through the doors to feel comfortable, valued, and at home.”
His conclusion captures the culture Heather has worked to build from the beginning.
“Smolder is not just where I work. It is where I belong.”

One member, Nathan credits the lounge with helping launch HYKR during its earliest days.
“In the earliest stages of building my business, you welcomed me into your lounge, allowed me to use your internet, and gave me a place where I could think, work, connect, and build. That support meant more to me than you may ever know.”
The experience became much more than a workspace.
“During that time, I met truly great people and formed relationships that I believe will last a lifetime. Smolder has been more than just a cigar lounge to me. It has been a place of connection, conversation, entrepreneurship, and community.”
Reflecting on that journey, the entrepreneur describes Smolder as something unlike any other destination in Colorado.
“Smolder is hands down not just a cigar lounge, but a business infused cigar experience with a vibe unlike any other. In my opinion, it is the best in Colorado.”
