The Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce has appointed Amy Lovoi as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective February 1, 2025. A Beaumont native with over 35 years of experience in business leadership and supply chain management, Lovoi succeeds interim President and CEO Mary Poole, who had held the position since October 2024 following the resignation of Steve Ahlenius.
Lovoi’s professional journey is deeply rooted in Beaumont’s business community. She is a third-generation leader at Lovoi & Sons Pharmacies, Inc., a family-owned enterprise established in 1932. Her career also includes significant roles in national and international supply chain management, having worked with companies such as Sears, Timberland, TJX, and Smurfit WestRock paper mill in Evadale. Lovoi holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Leadership from Lamar University.
Expressing her enthusiasm for the new role, Lovoi stated, “I am truly grateful for the opportunity to lead in the town where I grew up. Beaumont has shaped who I am, and it is an honor to be the President and CEO of the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce. I am eager to unite people and drive growth that cultivates a healthy economic and social environment throughout Southeast Texas.”
Board Chairman Craig Escamilla highlighted Lovoi’s qualifications, saying, “Amy brings extensive business experience to this role, but equally important, she brings deep knowledge of and a strong commitment to her hometown of Beaumont. Her impressive portfolio of service and genuine love for the community makes her the perfect fit for leading the Chamber.”
As the fourth individual to hold the Chamber’s top position in five years, Lovoi aims to bring stability and sustained growth to the organization. She plans to engage with the Chamber’s nearly 900 member businesses through active listening, collaboration, and initiatives that create value and promote economic development. Lovoi also emphasizes the importance of building strong relationships with local, state, and federal legislative leaders to advocate effectively for the business community.
Under Lovoi’s leadership, the Chamber has already announced plans to host three town hall forums exclusively for Chamber members to hear from candidates for Beaumont Mayor and City Council. These forums are scheduled for March 25, April 1, and April 8 at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas and aim to provide insights into local legislative issues that directly affect businesses.
The Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce continues its mission to support local economic development and advocate for business interests across legislative levels. With Lovoi at the helm, the Chamber is poised to strengthen its role as a central force in fostering a thriving business environment in Southeast Texas.
