SAN ANTONIO & CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Right at Home is expanding its South Texas footprint into Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend, marking the next stage of growth for a locally owned operation that began with no clients and no caregivers in late 2024.
In its first 15 months of operation, the business surpassed $1 million in cumulative revenue and has since grown to approximately 80 active caregivers delivering around 1,300 hours of in-home care each week.
The expansion is led by owner and CEO Eduardo Peñalosa, a Mexican entrepreneur who came to the United States as an E-2 treaty investor after more than 15 years in marketing and growth leadership.
Before becoming an entrepreneur, Peñalosa held roles with global organizations including AB InBev, Walmart, Bayer and Sanofi. With a master's degree in Digital Marketing and industry recognition from organizations including Google, IAB, Effie and Waze, his career had largely centered on building brands and driving growth for established companies.
In 2024, he chose a very different challenge: investing in South Texas and building a home-care organization from the ground up.
“What attracted me to this opportunity was the ability to build something meaningful where growth has a very human impact. Every new client represents a family trusting us with someone they love, it doesn’t get deeper than that and every new caregiver represents an opportunity to build a meaningful career. Those two responsibilities have to grow together at the same time we grow our office and culture.”
Right at Home provides non-medical in-home care to older adults and adults with disabilities, including personal care, companionship, transportation, meal preparation, mobility assistance, respite care, dementia and Alzheimer's support, and assistance during transitions home from hospitals and rehabilitation facilities.
The company also serves veterans and families navigating the increasingly common challenge of helping aging parents remain safely and independently at home.
Why Corpus Christi
Peñalosa identified Corpus Christi as the company's next growth market because of its proximity to San Antonio, significant senior and veteran communities, established healthcare infrastructure, and the opportunity to serve families throughout the Coastal Bend.
The expansion is designed to be locally driven. The company is building its Corpus Christi team while developing relationships with healthcare providers, senior communities, case managers, veterans' organizations and other organizations serving older adults.
“We aren't interested in opening a location simply to put another dot on a map. Our goal is to build an exceptional local team that understands this community and earns its trust. Also, we had to go through an approval process with Right at Home corporate to meet NPS, weekly hours, and revenue KPIs to demonstrate our ability to develop a second territory”
For Peñalosa, building that team has become one of the most important parts of the company's growth.
“My biggest motivation is seeing the people around me win. My vision is to surround myself with people who become far better experts than I could ever be in their individual areas. Watching our company grow following our policies and procedures as an engine and watching someone grow into a leader, take ownership and help build the organization with you is incredibly inspiring.”
From E-2 Investor to South Texas Business Owner

Peñalosa's expansion also represents a broader entrepreneurial journey.
He came to the United States through the E-2 treaty investor program and invested in establishing and growing his own U.S. business. Rather than acquiring an established local operation, Peñalosa and his team built the San Antonio business from the ground up.
The results provide measurable evidence of that growth: more than $1 million in cumulative revenue during the company's first 15 months, approximately 80 active caregivers, around 1,300 hours of care delivered each week, and now an expansion into a second South Texas market.
For Peñalosa, however, those numbers are a measure of something larger.
“South Texas is home for us, and we're building for the long term. I want to look back years from now and see not only how much the company grew, but how many families we helped, how many careers were created and how many people on our team grew alongside the organization.”
The Corpus Christi expansion comes as families across South Texas increasingly seek options that allow older adults to remain in their own homes while receiving the support they need.
Right at Home is an international home-care organization with more than 700 locations worldwide and more than three decades of experience helping seniors and adults maintain their independence.
