WESTERVILLE, Ohio — DHL Supply Chain has appointed Mark Kunar as Chief Executive Officer for its North America operations, effective immediately. This leadership transition follows the departure of former CEO Patrick Kelleher, who is set to assume the CEO role at GXO Logistics in August. Kunar, a nearly 30-year veteran of DHL, previously served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Strategy Officer for the region.
In his new position, Kunar will oversee DHL Supply Chain’s extensive operations across the United States and Canada, managing a workforce of approximately 52,000 associates. He will report directly to Oscar de Bok, CEO of DHL Supply Chain.
Oscar de Bok expressed confidence in Kunar’s leadership, stating, “Mark’s broad supply chain and management expertise, paired with his proven commercial acumen and his balanced leadership style, makes him the ideal candidate to take our business into the future in this key market.”
Kunar began his career at DHL Supply Chain in 1996 as a financial analyst and has since held various operational, finance, commercial, and strategic roles. In 2024, he was appointed CFO and Chief Strategy Officer, where he was instrumental in developing and implementing the North America growth strategy, aligning with DHL’s global “Strategy 2030” initiative.
Under Kunar’s strategic guidance, DHL Supply Chain North America has expanded its service offerings through key acquisitions. Since January 2025, the company has acquired Inmar Supply Chain Solutions, a leading returns solutions provider; CRYOPDP, a specialty pharmaceutical courier; and IDS Fulfillment, an e-commerce logistics provider. These acquisitions aim to strengthen DHL’s position in high-growth sectors such as reverse logistics, healthcare, and e-commerce.
Kunar emphasized the importance of these developments, stating, “Customer supply chain needs are creating a transformative environment, necessitating innovation and adaptability to thrive in the current landscape. This role comes at a pivotal time, and we will use our expertise and product solutions to adapt and grow, ensuring that we remain a key partner to our customers.”
The leadership change is part of a broader organizational restructuring within DHL Group’s Americas region, which includes new appointments in its Global Forwarding and eCommerce divisions. These strategic moves reflect DHL’s commitment to strengthening its leadership team to better address evolving market demands and customer expectations.
As DHL Supply Chain continues to navigate the complexities of the logistics industry, Kunar’s extensive experience and strategic vision are expected to drive the company’s growth and reinforce its position as a leading contract logistics provider in North America.
