Agodi Technologies Opens $5 Million Seed Round to Build Africa’s Digital Infrastructure Layer

Agodi Technologies seeks $5 million in seed funding to expand digital infrastructure for identity, trust, and access across Africa.
Agodi Technologies, a global technology group proven first in Africa, has announced plans to raise $5 million in seed funding, with an initial target of $2 million, to accelerate the development of digital infrastructure supporting identity, trust, access and economic participation across African markets.
The company said it is currently in early discussions with strategic partners and global investors as it seeks capital to expand its technology portfolio, strengthen infrastructure and accelerate market expansion across the continent.
Agodi Technologies currently operates a portfolio of more than 20 live digital products across identity, education, healthcare, legal services, fintech and other sectors. Its platforms include AfriID, a digital identity network; IDVero, an identity-verification infrastructure platform; SchoolID, a digital operating system for schools; Legal Buddy, a legal-access marketplace; and Sisi Nurse, a healthcare workforce network.
The company's fundraising strategy is built around a broader ambition to develop the digital infrastructure required for greater trust and access across Africa's increasingly connected economy.
“We’re building the infrastructure layer that will power Africa’s digital economy,” said Stephen Oladeji, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Agodi Technologies. “Identity, trust and access are the foundations everything else is built on — and we are building them for Africa, to a global standard.”
The proposed funding will be directed toward accelerating product development, expanding Agodi’s presence across African markets, strengthening technology infrastructure and developing strategic partnerships.
The company believes that reliable digital identity and verification infrastructure can play a critical role across sectors, including financial services, education, healthcare, legal services and digital commerce, where trust and access are increasingly important to how people and businesses interact.
“Africa’s digital economy needs more than applications sitting on top of existing systems,” Stephen said. “It needs infrastructure that allows people, businesses and institutions to establish trust and participate more easily in the digital economy.”
The planned investment comes as Agodi continues to develop partnerships supporting its technology infrastructure. The company was recently named a Preferred Pan-African Partner for SynxDB cloud data infrastructure, strengthening its ability to develop and deploy technology solutions across multiple African markets.
Agodi is also expanding its presence in Southern Africa through a dedicated partnerships team as it seeks to build relationships with technology providers, businesses and other strategic stakeholders.
“Our approach is to solve real problems for African users first, under real conditions, and then take what works to other markets,” Stephen said. “That gives us a very practical understanding of what digital infrastructure needs to look like in the environments where we intend to deploy it.”
The company sees its existing portfolio as an interconnected technology ecosystem rather than a collection of unrelated products. Identity and verification capabilities, for example, can support applications across financial services, healthcare, education and other areas where secure access and trusted information are essential.
“The opportunity is much bigger than any single product,” Oladeji said. “We are thinking about how identity, verification, financial access and essential digital services can work together to create stronger foundations for Africa’s digital economy.”
Agodi’s strategy is also designed with international scalability in mind. While its products are developed with African users and market conditions at the centre, the company intends to build technology that can eventually serve users beyond the continent.
“We believe Africa can be both the starting point and the proving ground for globally relevant technology,” Stephen said. “If we can build infrastructure that works across diverse African markets, we can build capabilities that have relevance far beyond Africa.”
The company expects to continue expanding its product portfolio, partnerships and geographical footprint through 2026 and into 2027.
The $5 million fundraising initiative represents the next phase of Agodi Technologies’ growth as it seeks to move from building individual digital products toward developing a broader infrastructure layer capable of supporting trust, identity and access across multiple sectors.
With an initial $2 million close targeted as part of the larger round, the company is seeking strategic investors and partners aligned with its long-term vision for Africa’s digital economy.
“Our ambition is to build technology infrastructure that becomes part of how Africa participates in the global digital economy,” Oladeji said. “We are starting with real problems, real users and real markets, but we are building with a global horizon.”
