Shamima Yasmin Anwar’s entrepreneurial journey is a testament to the power of resilience, love, and purpose. The story of Luxbaby & Beyond is deeply intertwined with Yasmin’s journey as a woman and a mother. Before entering the world of handmade baby keepsakes, she was already running another business — managing a growing EdTech company alongside her husband. Life was full, but deep inside, she longed for something that success alone couldn’t fulfill: the dream of becoming a mother.

Yasmin was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and endured multiple miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy, which led to the loss of her left fallopian tube. Doctors said her chances of having children were only 50%.

Instead of giving up, she changed her lifestyle, prayed, and did everything possible to improve her chances. “I prayed to God that if I was ever blessed with a child, I would do something meaningful for children in need,” she recalls.

Miraculously, her prayers were answered — not once, but twice. She was blessed with two beautiful children, Yaleena and Yazdan.

As she prepared to welcome them home, Yasmin searched for something special to mark their arrival. “I wanted something unique — something that reflected love, warmth, and individuality. But I couldn’t find anything that felt right,” she says.

So she created her own. She handmade her children’s first home-welcoming sets, personalized with their names and crafted with love. Friends and other parents admired the designs, and soon word spread. “When I saw how other parents loved those sets, I realized there was a real gap in the market — and perhaps this was the answer to my prayer,” she recalls.

Becoming a mother transformed everything. While still overseeing her other business, Yasmin realized the early years of her children’s lives were precious, and she wanted to be fully present. That realization marked the beginning of Luxbaby & Beyond — a brand born from faith, motherhood, and a desire to give back.

“It wasn’t just about creating products,” Yasmin shares. “It was about turning my gratitude into action — helping children in need and bringing joy to families through something handmade, heartfelt, and lasting.”

A Brand Built on Passion and Purpose

In January 2024, Luxbaby & Beyond was born. What began as a mother’s heartfelt creations grew into a full-fledged business. Yasmin’s vision was clear: she wanted to offer more than just products; she wanted to create meaningful keepsakes that families would treasure forever.

Luxbaby & Beyond specializes in high-quality, handmade baby clothes, accessories, and gifts. Each product is personalized to celebrate significant milestones, such as a newborn’s first outfit, a baptism outfit, or a keepsake for a special birthday. True to her promise of giving back, Yasmin made sure that Luxbaby & Beyond was built on a foundation of philanthropy. “1% of every purchase goes toward supporting children’s charities in Australia and Bangladesh,” she shares.

The brand is also an authorized fundraiser for the Royal Hospital for Women Foundation, a cause very close to Yasmin’s heart — as both of her children were born at the Royal Hospital for Women. “Supporting this foundation felt personal,” she says. “It’s a way to give back to the hospital that welcomed my babies into the world and to help improve the care and well-being of mothers and children everywhere.”

In addition to its charitable work, Luxbaby & Beyond has become a beacon for local community support. Recently, the brand was named a finalist in the Bayside Local Business Awards, highlighting its positive impact within the community.

In just under two years, Luxbaby & Beyond has earned widespread recognition. The brand has been a finalist in the Australian Women’s Small Business Champions Awards in 2024 and 2025 and has been nominated for several prestigious accolades, including the Australian Ladies in Business Initiative and the AusMumpreneur Awards.
