Del Scheitler: The CEO Behind Aging in Place North Carolina and the Mission Driving Well Lived NC

How personal experience shaped a company and a movement helping families navigate aging with dignity.

A Mission Rooted in Real Life

For Del Scheitler, founder and CEO of Aging in Place North Carolina, this work has never been theoretical.

It is personal.

Growing up as the youngest of three, Scheitler was raised alongside two older brothers with developmental disabilities, including cerebral palsy. His childhood was shaped by caregiving, supporting his brothers and his mother, who came from Thailand and built a life for their family in the United States.

Because of her, he learned early what it truly means to care for the people you love.

He also experienced the emotional weight that comes with it – the uncertainty, responsibility, and quiet challenges families carry every day. Through those moments, his faith became his foundation, giving him strength, perspective, and a clear sense of purpose.

Today, that purpose continues to evolve. As a new father while also caring for his mother and brother, Scheitler lives the reality many families face – balancing safety, accessibility, and independence for loved ones at home.

That lived experience is what led him to build Aging in Place North Carolina.

Building a Company with Purpose

Aging in Place North Carolina was created to help families navigate one of life’s most important transitions – ensuring loved ones can remain at home safely, comfortably, and with dignity.

Under Scheitler’s leadership, the company focuses on practical, real-world solutions –  home safety, accessibility modifications, and guidance that removes the feeling of being overwhelmed or alone.

“We help families create safe, accessible homes for aging loved ones, so no one feels lost in the process,” Scheitler shares.

The mission is simple but powerful: bring peace of mind into every home they serve.

Well Lived NC: Turning Vision Into Action

That mission is now expanding beyond the home through the launch of the Well Lived NC Expo, a major initiative that brings Scheitler’s vision into a shared community experience.

Taking place on June 27, 2026, at Netsports in Morrisville, North Carolina, the event is designed to unite seniors, families, and local businesses in one space focused on education, connection, and active living.

Rather than a traditional conference, Well Lived NC is intentionally interactive.

Attendees can participate in pickleball, line dancing, and fitness sessions while also exploring resources on financial planning, home safety, and assistive technologies.

“Our goal is to make the later chapters of life as vibrant and as well lived as the earlier ones,” Scheitler says.

The expo reflects everything Aging in Place North Carolina stands for empowerment, accessibility, and community.

Meeting a Growing Need

North Carolina is experiencing a significant demographic shift, with a rapidly increasing senior population. More families are stepping into caregiving roles, often without clear guidance.

Scheitler recognized this gap early.

Through his company and now through Well Lived NC, he is creating solutions that bring clarity, support, and real options to families navigating aging in place.

A Community-Driven Approach

Beyond education, Well Lived NC also serves as a platform for local businesses to connect with families actively seeking solutions.

With sponsorship opportunities and vendor participation, businesses can engage directly with attendees in a meaningful way – building trust while contributing to a shared mission of improving quality of life.

This reflects Scheitler’s broader philosophy as a CEO: real impact comes from collaboration.

Redefining What It Means to Age Well

At its core, Scheitler’s work is about changing the narrative around aging.

Through Aging in Place North Carolina and the Well Lived NC Expo, he is helping families see aging as a stage of life filled with possibility – one that can include independence, connection, and dignity.

Attendees leave with more than information. They leave with confidence, clarity, and a renewed sense of control over their future. For Scheitler, that impact is deeply personal.

It’s about ensuring no family feels alone in the journey he understands so well. Visit their website to explore the full event schedule, register for workshops, or reserve your spot as a vendor or sponsor. This is more than an expo. It is a community celebration of living well at every age.
